Board of Directors

Rhoda Mutio Silu

Founding Board Member

Rhoda is a founding member of Utooni Development Project which led to the formation of Utooni Development Organisation (UDO). She has been a committee member of Utooni Development Project since 1978. She taught at different government schools for 12 years and resigned in 1985 so as to assist her late husband Joshua Silu in development. In 2009, she opened an elementary school, Utooni Starlight Academy to educate children less than 5 years old. She is also a farmer.

Ester Ithau

Treasurer & Founding Board Member

Esther is a founding member of Utooni Development Project which led to the formation of Utooni Development Organisation. She has been doing community development activities for the last 35 years. She is a committee member for A.I.C Katanga church for over 40 years. She has served as the chair lady of Generation women group for over 30 years. She is the treasurer of Katanga focal area group, a post she has held for the last 12 years. She is a farmer and a business lady in the area.

Onesmus N. Makau, LL.B, LL.M

Board Chairman

Onesimus Makau is also the Chairman of Dove Foundation, Director Kituo cha Sheria previously member of Centre for Legal Aid, Senior partner O.N. Makau and Mulei Advocates and Law Lecturer Daystar University, Management University of Africa and at Kenya Institute of Management. He is currently a superior Court Judge and graduated with his Bachelors and Masters from Nairobi University. Married to Jane, they have three kids all in school. Mr Makau helped to register Utooni Development Organization.

Jones Kaleli Kyongo, BED, MBA, PhD

Board Secretary

Jones is a married Christian. He is a lecturer in management at Daystar University and has over 20 years experience in Management.

Kevin Muneene Kamuya

Chief Executive Officer

Kevin is a married Christian with a lifelong interest in Project Management with a lot of focus in changing lifes. Qualified graduate in Project Management and Management of Information Systems . He is a experienced person with the skills and desire to pioneer solutions to problems affecting the rural community. He has been doing community development work for seven years. A member of several community groups and a father to two children. A good poultry farmer and his hobby is cycling.

Doris Nzisa Kimuyu

Board Member

Doris is a community leader in the target community and also the chairlady of Kwatuta self help group. She is a board of governor member at Kyangala and Kinoi secondary schools. She is the chairlady of A.I.C Kyangala church and also the chairlady of Mithu borehole project. She is a committee member of Maendeleo ya wanawake at district level. She is a business woman and a farmer.

Dr. Peter Mutuku Mumo

Board Member

Peter is a senior Lecturer University of Nairobi. He is a member of board of management in several secondary schools. He has authored several articles in referred journals and written several book chapters. He has researched in areas of Religion, Culture, Education and Development. He has participated in community development projects in Machakos County.

Stephen Mulili Musyoka

Board Member

Musyoka is a project management professional offering versatile project management skills and proficiency in implementing water and food security projects for rural development. He is strong in planning, strategic management and problem solving and readily adapts to change, to exceeds expectations.
